#FridayFantasy: @SassyVixenPub Presents Author Ruby Fielding's #Paranormal #Fantasy

Welcome to Friday Fantasy here at Sassy Vixen Publishing. I'm The Vixen and excited to welcome our guest today. Author Ruby Fielding starts off her mini tour of our sister blogs. Today's post we get an introduction to her characters from her novella Hunters: A Shifters' World. Sit back and relax and get to know Selene, Skinner and Marshall. Tomorrow Ruby will stop in to visit with the Four Seduced Muses!

Ruby Fielding’s new shifter novella, Hunted, was recently published by James Grieve Press:

Should she struggle to survive alone or give in to desire and risk the - perhaps deadly - company of others?

In a world where plague has swept civilization away like leaves in a storm, where viruses that cause people to shift and change have altered what it is, for most, to be human, a few survivors hold out in a desperate attempt to save the human race. Selene lives alone in the forest, protecting herself from human and shifter alike until one day a stranger turns up: a young man called Skinner, out on a quest to hunt down and destroy any shifter he can find. Torn between desire and fear, Selene must confront her true nature and make some impossible choices if she is to survive this harsh, post-apocalyptic future.

Hunted: a Shifters' World novella - a shapeshifter erotic romance of survival and desire in a deadly future from the co-author of Seduced by Moonlight and The Touch.

“I'm a huge shifter fan. I get a kick out of reading even the predictable stuff over and over again, but Rudy Fielding's novella is an all original treat.” - from a five-star Amazon reader review.

Want to learn a bit more about Selene, Skinner and the other characters in Hunted? Read on!

Selene
Well... that’s what they call me. That’s the name Tabitha gave me when I ended up in that strange enclave, the Sanctum. Until then I’d lived a quiet life. I had shelter, and supplies of food and water. I kept myself safe, and I shut myself away at night... away from the shifters, the ones who had no control and became wild, dangerous beasts at night. That kind of existence, hiding away from the dangers of the world... well, it could never last. And sure enough, when Skinner blundered in with his smoldering eyes and his smooth turn of phrase, I knew that life was over. I wasn’t prepared for the intensity for the, for want of a better phrase, sheer animal attraction that might easily overpower me...

Skinner
I grew up in the camps, one of many refugees, protected from a world changed by viruses that turn humans into something else entirely. I grew up in the camps, determined to break out and see something of this scary new world. And so I took the first opportunity to go out hunting the beasts. They didn’t call me ‘Skinner’ for nothing.

Marshall
I am one of the last true humans, untainted by the shifting viruses, and I have taken it up on myself to preserve my kind. I am the founder of an enclave of true humans, a place we call the Sanctum. We protect ourselves from the plagues, and from the beasts, and our long-term strategy is to breed our kind. Yes, I am a man surrounded by women and some might see me as lucky to be in such a position. But me? I am simply serving my kind.

Tabitha
I serve Marshall, but he barely sees me. In a community where a woman’s role is to breed, a barren woman is a non-person, little more than a slave. But a person in the shadows who nobody sees can be full of surprises, and I think that in Selene I have found not only a true friend, but a person who is key to this dangerous, changed world of ours.

Excerpt

What he’s like.

He was a good half a head taller than Selene, broad across the shoulders, narrow at the hips. He had blue eyes that cut right through you and fleshy, sensuous lips. Dark hair, a fuzz of stubble along his jaw and a scar that ran down one side of his neck.

He looked at her as if he were sizing up a horse. His gaze worked up and down her body as if he could see through her gown, before fixing on her eyes again. “So,” he said, in a deep voice, “you’re the new one. You think you might like it here?”

She met his look. She wasn’t going to be intimidated. She had survived this far on her own, after all.

So why did her voice fail her at that moment? Why did she open her mouth but only a faint croak escape? “I...” That and a shrug were all she could manage.

He stepped closer then, and raised a hand.

For an instant she thought he was going to strike her, but then he simply reached out, and pressed his knuckles to her cheek, a surprisingly gentle touch. “I hope you do,” he went on. “I’d really like you to stay. Come. Let’s walk.”

He took her by the arm and led her outside into the harsh morning sunlight.

“What is this place?” she asked, as they walked across a yard where women tended neat vegetable plots.

“The Sanctum,” he said. “A sanctuary from the wild lands. A refuge for pure humankind. We protect ourselves. We are the future of our species.”

Passing through a gap between buildings, they emerged in an open space, children running around, tended by more of the Sanctum’s women.

“These women,” said Selene, clarity striking her mind like a beam of sunlight breaking through the clouds. “These children...”

Marshall nodded. “It is our duty to preserve humankind,” he said.
He moved round to stand in front of her, so close. “We all must play our part.”

“And if I don’t want to?”

“I would be duty-bound to persuade you.”

With that, he took the back of her head in one strong hand and pressed his mouth to hers. A brief kiss, and then it was over, he was stepping back and turning away. She was left standing there, her heart racing again and her responses so mixed up and contradictory she didn’t know whether to run or throw herself at him.

“I...” Her voice was gone again. Why was she reacting like this? She was a strong, independent woman, a survivor.

It was a thing to fear, she knew. Such strong, immediate reactions. Animal responses. It scared her.

He paused and turned back, smiling, an expression that was totally disarming. “And I tell you,” he said, “persuasion is one of the best parts.”

#FridayFantasy: Author @HunterSJones101 Shares #SeptemberEnds #erotic #romance #poetry

Welcome to Sassy Vixen Publishing and our Friday Fantasy Free For All. This is the feature where we showcase authors from all genres with fabulous new releases or revisiting older ones. This week we're thrilled to have author Hunter S. Jones stopping in to share her latest release September Ends. This one is a fascinating read—not only in content, but in the format of the novel itself.

Here's the blurb...

Sometimes when you believe it’s the end, it’s only the beginning.

September Ends is contemporary fiction, with romance, erotic and supernatural elements, bound by poetry. It reveals the intricate web of passion and desire which entangles Liz Snow, Pete Hendrix and Jack O. Savage. The story is told through Liz Snow’s diary, Jack O. Savage’s poetry, and from letters sent across the Atlantic. Traveling throughout the lushness of a summertime in Tennessee and Georgia, September Ends journeys into the elegance of London’s West End and is finally settled in the countryside of Cornwall, England, a decade later.

September Ends is a story of sin, redemption and salvation through love because love happens when we least expect it.

Want to learn a bit more about Liz, Pete and Jack? Read on!

LIZ SNOW

I am Liz Snow, Elizabeth October Snow, from Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Actually I’m from a small town in north Georgia called LaFayette. My grandfather died suddenly when I was young, then I saw my only brother die in a useless traffic accident. So, you see, I’m not your typical girl. Years of anti-depressants, alcohol and bad relationships have damaged me emotionally. I hide myself in my career as a software executive. I never really knew what love was until meeting Peter William Hendrix III of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Or at least that’s what I thought until Pete’s betrayal.

PETE HENDRIX

I’m successful, some say handsome, attorney Pete Hendrix of the firm Hendrix, Hendrix & Smith in Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. I attended undergrad at Vanderbilt University, graduated law school with Honors and returned to Chattanooga to run the family law firm. I live the life my mother always wanted for me. As often as possible, go to my cabin on Walden Ridge. There, I swim in the clear, cool water from the cave, read and spend time in solitude looking onto the scenic Sequatchie Valley, the sacred hunting grounds of the Cherokee Nation before the Trail of Tears. My life is structured and secure. But, I never expected to meet a girl like Liz Snow. I loved Liz with my heart and soul. Then, she discovered my secret.

WIKI ENTRY: JACK O SAVAGE

English poet, novelist, and founder member of The Renaissance Bards trio of spoken word artists, Jack O Savage leapt to prominence on being expelled from Jesus College, Oxford for allegedly plotting an arson attack on the college in which he supposedly planned to 'raise English successist complacency to its foundations', though no charges were ever brought against him. The Sun tabloid newspaper ran a story proclaiming POSH POET GETS CHOP referring to Savage's 'chopper protest' in which he was arrested for 'leaping atop a 17th century oak refectory table and lewdly flaunting his generous masculinity' at a formal disciplinary hearing, a gesture which he later repeated in public and which subsequently went viral on YouTube, receiving over 100 million hits in under two hours.

Ooooo...now I really want to read more! How about you? Lucky for you, Hunter sent an excerpt too...

ON THE WILD HILL
.
We is the monster made to thrill
Whose arms and legs and guts enmesh
This craven frotwolf in your flesh
Shy innocence we lust to kill
Our ugliness all beauty eats
Such is our appetites and greed
We're in your rampant primal need
You can't resist our raging heats
And so succumb - my succubus
To my ferocious hirsuit will
Your Life's essential surge to spill
To sanctify my hid'ous pus
We promise we will set you free
Though some call me porn-og-raph-y
.

LIZ
Mistress. All words of importance must be acknowledged with a capital letter.
I am your Mistress.

Pete
Mmmm I want to fuck you hard. Really let you know I want you.
Baby, I want to watch every move you make. I want to see your eyes look at me when I make love to you.

Liz
I slide onto your cock
grip it
up
down the shaft, slow
sexy
until you cum harder than you ever imagined in your life

Pete
I had to re-boot. Dammit!
Have I made you happy? Did you cum? Tell me.

Liz
Yes, you’ve been a very good boy & made me very happy tonight.

Pete
Oh yes, sweet Mistress.
When we meet, can you wear black lace panties for me? Something really feminine. Maybe a lacy little black thong. That would be sweet. Mmmm.

Liz
You know by now I’ll do anything you want. I wish we could be together tonight.

Pete
Me, too baby. I’m going to sleep now. Sweet dreams, sweet Liz. I need you here with me tonight. I promise I’ll be a very good boy.
Make my Mistress happy. Want to sign in again tomorrow night? I’ll be free for you.

That's it! I'm heading over to Amazon to get my copy. Who's coming with me?

About the Author: Hunter S. Jones

Novelist. Exile on Peachtree Street.
Lover of all the finer things in life.

The art form I create when writing is much more interesting than anything you will ever know or learn about me. However, since you ask, I have lived in Tennessee and Georgia my entire life, except for one “lost summer” spent in Los Angeles. I was always a complex kid. My first published stories were for a local underground rock publication in Nashville. Since then, I have published articles on music, fashion, art, travel and history.

Currently, I have a music/entertainment blog @ExPatsPost.com. My debut novella, Fables of the Reconstruction, was published in 2012. I have a series of sexy vignettes on Amazon called Tales from a New Amsterdam. Moon Rose Publishing included my novella, Magic in Memphis, in their anthology, A Celtic Tapestry in March 2013.

Edgar Allan Poe and Anne Rice have always fascinated me, although like any Southern girl, I will always idolize Margaret Mitchell for writing Gone With The Wind. I also adore the works of John Grisham, and own a huge selection of his books. I live in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia with my husband, my books, too many clothes, too many shoes and way too many stacks of notepads and journals.

October 2013 sees the launch of a novel collaboration, SEPTEMBER ENDS, a contemporary romance with erotic and supernatural elements bound by poetry. This novel is written in collaboration with an anonymous English poet. He wants no attention. In blogs, he only asks to be recognized as the secretive collaborator from London. We have never met and we only communicate electronically and have no personal ties. His privacy and art are more important than anything. I can share with you that his published works are critically acclaimed.

Now on to the upcoming releases. It's been a long time coming but Tammy Dennings Maggy's Now and Forever series is continuing on with The Surrender of Julia (Now and Forever 3). We're in the final formatting phases and it will be up and running on January 3rd. We here at SVP couldn't be happier!

Here's the blurb:

L.A. artist phenom Julia Santos appeared to have it all. After a nearly two year long dry spell, her creativity was at its peak and she had her muse and model Jacob Hartley to thank for it. He brought the fire and raw sexuality back to her sculptures and into her bedroom, and a sense of security that only one other person in her life had ever given her. At last she had found the perfect balance between her professional and private lives, until the day a single call from someone in her past threatened to tear her world apart.

Fearful of losing all she’d worked so hard to accomplish, Julia delved deeper into the hedonistic lifestyle she’d come to rely on to give her an escape from the horrors of her past. Instead of bringing her comfort, her sexual urges lead her down the path of destruction; not only for herself, but those around her.  With Jacob fighting for his life after a near fatal motorcycle accident and Julia on the brink of death herself, Fate and her Guardian Angel Daniel intervene and transport her to a safe haven called the Island.

There she’s given a choice: stay on the Island and wait for her next rebirth, or go back and fight to be with the one who has been there for her through every lifetime.  Will she take the easy way out and leave all the pain behind, or will she choose the long and hard road reliving the horrors of her childhood in order to have her happily ever after with the Mistress of her dreams?

Now hot on the heels of Tammy's release is the second book in Tawny Savage's Bigfoot Chronicles. Bigfoot Claims His Mate (The Bigfoot Chronicles 2) is set to be released on January 10th at the latest. We've had a lot of fun mocking up the cover for this one. In fact, one of the bigfoot models turned out to look too much like a Wookie.

Since we didn't want to have to fight a battle with George Lucas or Disney over the image, we decided not to use it...okay we were teasing Tawny that we would use it. We never had any intention of doing so. It did however get her mind in the Wookie gutter. LOL!

We'll release the blurb and an excerpt soon. Until then, enjoy the cover we did decide to offer to the author. She loved it so as you can see, it's a go!

In the next six months, look for Stephanie Ryan's first novels to be published, another from Tawny to complete the Bigfoot Chronicles, Tammy's My Love, My Friend (Now and Forever 4) and the beginning of her Kayne Legacy series. Lia will also have the full novel Candy Kisses and the next book in her Fearless Love series entitled Call of the Thunderbird. Yes, Abraham and Ethan's full story will finally be told.

That's what Sassy Vixen has on the horizon along with guest authors visiting us from time to time. Of course there are more projects under wraps and as soon as we have them finalized, you'll be the first to know!

Until then,
~The Vixen and Mr. Vixen (CEO of SASSY VIXEN...he loves that title!)

#BookTour for @KaraLeighMille1 and Death of a Waterfall #contemporary #romance #newadult

Welcome to the Saturday Spotlight here at Sassy Vixen Publishing. I'm The Vixen and in case you haven't figured out, I'm the Mistress of Ceremonies here and besides showcasing Sassy Vixen authors, I'm honored to host authors from many different genres. Today I'm excited to have with us once again author Kara Leigh Miller.

She's actually on a double book tour. On our sister blog Through Stephanie's Eyes and Not Enough Time in the Day, Kara talked about her new YA release The Georgia Corbins. Today and on Monday she's sharing her New Adult release Death of a Waterfall. How exciting is that?  Get your drinks and find a comfy seat and let's get this show on the road!

About the Author

Born and raised in the small town of Mexico, New York, Kara was an only child who was forced to find ways to entertain herself. Playing make believe with her Barbie dolls and stuffed animals was her first real taste of storytelling before she became old enough to develop a love affair with the written word. In early 2010, Kara picked up her very first erotic romance novel, and she was instantly hooked. She loves to write contemporary romance, erotica, and young adult romance.

She's the author of several erotic novellas, The Georgia Corbins, a YA romance, and a handful of short stories. Kara is an active member of the CNY Writers Haven and the CNY Romance Writers. In addition, she's an Associate Editor at Entranced Publishing.

Today, Kara resides in New Haven, New York with her husband, five kids, three cats, and two puppies. When she's not reading or writing, she's thinking about reading and writing. And when she's not doing that, she's spending time with her family and friends.

A bit more about Kara and her work...

Who are some of your favorite authors and why do you think they appeal so much to you?
I love Lora Leigh and Julie Ann Walker. They are both fantastic at writing alpha males who are tough yet sweet to the heroine. Lora Leigh can write sex like it's nobody's business and Julie Ann Walker is great at giving her heroes one-liners, usually an expletive, at just the right time and it always makes me chuckle.

When and where does your book take place?
Death of a Waterfall is set in the fictional town of Hayden Falls, California. The town of Hayden Falls is based very closely on the size and make up of Oswego, New York. Both places are on the smaller side, but have a lot of the necessary amenities and extras, such as a major university.

Who is the heroine? What drives her?
The heroine is Teghan Jacobs. She's a twenty year old college freshman at Hayden Falls University. In the beginning of the story she's driven by the need to break free from her father's control, to learn to be on her own and survive without his help. By the middle of the story she's driven by a need for revenge, and at the end she's just trying to get through each day.

Who is the hero? What drives him?
The hero is Donnie Marks—also a twenty year old freshman in college. Like Teghan, his driving force changes throughout the story. In the beginning, it's his need to be with Teghan, to get to know her and make love to her. By the end, he's driven my pure revenge. The single underlying drive for Donnie that never changes is his desire to have a family, to be the father he never had.

Is there a villain? Who is he? What’s he like? Why is he/she the way they are? What motivates him/her to cause oppositional force to the characters? Without giving any spoilers, can you give a hint as to what sort of opposition he/she gives to the main characters?
Oh yes, there is a villain. His name is Robert Jacobs and he's Teghan's father. Rob is a very controlling man, he's used to getting his own way, and he has no problems paying to get it, either. His motivation is simple: to protect his daughter. He doesn’t like Teghan's boyfriend, Donnie, so Rob tries to do whatever he can to keep them apart. It's a father's love gone wrong.

What are you working on now?
I'm working on the sequel to Death of a Waterfall; a sequel to my YA romance, The Georgia Corbins; a sexy Olympic themed novelette entitled, Ice Gold; and an erotic paranormal romance.

What are your favorite fiction genres to read from?

Primarily erotic romance, with some light BDSM elements. I also enjoy reading murder mysteries, romantic suspense, and parodies. I love parodies!

Where can we find you?
Facebook | Twitter | Goodreads | Amazon | BN | ARe | Rogue Phoenix Press | Website

Thank you for stopping in today to learn a bit more about Kara. Make sure you stop into Behind Closed Doors on Monday June 17th where she'll share an excerpt from Death of a Waterfall, but until then here's a special GIVEAWAY for the tour.

Sassy Vixen Publishing Welcomes Stephanie Ryan!

As The Vixen, I've enjoyed hosting this blog and that of Sassy Vixen Reviews. Some of you also know that I've joined forces with three of my friends who also write erotic romances. Together we make up the Four Seduced Muses. It's only been three months since we created that blog and it's already become a hit. We're booked up for guests through April. I have a weekly spot there called Sinfully Sassy Sundays with The Vixen where I talk about anything and everything having to do with sex and fantasy.

As Tammy Dennings Maggy I write poetry, erotica and erotic romance. I love to read so many different genres and have many unfinished manuscripts and outlines for books that don't fall into the erotica genres. I also want to explore a bit more of the genres that many find taboo. So Lia Michaels and Stephanie Ryan were born.
For my own work, you can find me at Behind Closed Doors, Not Enough Time in the Day, Facebook, Facebook Fan Page, Twitter, Google +, Pinterest, Amazon Author Page, Siren Author Page and Goodreads

Lia has been with me for a bit and has been here writing posts for Sassy Vixen. Together we've run blog hops and interviewed each other. It's been a lot of fun "talking" and "arguing" with basically myself during those times, but it did make for some of the most popular posts! LOL  Lia is starting to come into her own and writers are seeking her out to do guest spots on her blog. I love it!

You can find her at The House of Taboo, Twitter, Facebook, Facebook Fan Page, and Google+

The final part of our little writing "trio" is Stephanie Ryan. Through her I can write books for young adults, mainstream fiction and the sweet romances. Whether it's paranormal, fantasy, or contemporary Stephanie will want to be involved...as long as it's not erotica or erotic romance. Soon she's do her spots here at Sassy Vixen Publishing and will be a contributing author for the shared world Temptation Resort Series.  You can find her on her own website/blog  Through Stephanie's Eyes, Facebook, Twitter, and Google+

So there you have it! All three Sassy Vixen Publishing authors together under one roof at last! Please stop in and visit all of us, follow our blogs and overall join us for fun times ahead!
