#ThursdayThirteen with @SloanArcher and Mercy's Debt

Hello sassy ones! I'm back from a much needed vacation and thought I would give The Vixen a break and host today's guest author Sloan Archer. She visited me at The House of Taboo on Saturday February 16th for the Spotlight interview and we had a blast! Today she only is allowed to share the first thirteen lines or sentences of her book. No excerpts. Sorry! You'll have to check out Taboo or Behind Closed Doors for those.

Mercy's Debt is Sloan's debut novel and the first one in her Montgomery's Vampires series. It's listed as a paranormal romantic thriller so in other words you get a little spice while scaring the pants off of you. LOL!

Enjoy the snippet and check out her links at the end. ~Lia

Blurb

After graduating from the prestigious Dewhurst University, Mercy Montgomery finds herself in a bit of financial trouble: over $108,000 worth of financial trouble, in fact. She can’t find a job to save her life, and with bill collectors constantly at her heels, she has no idea how she will ever come up with the money needed in order to keep her head above water.

Mercy’s monetary worries seem to be over after a chance meeting with mystifyingly pale Michael Graves, who offers her a high-paying job at his company, Dignitary. But there’s a catch; the seemingly harmless Dignitary is an underground organization that offers human chaperones to wealthy bloodsucking clients.

As if congregating with the undead doesn’t make life complicated enough for Mercy, there’s a savage killer on the loose who appears to have a craving for her blood. Soon Mercy is torn between a dark and dangerous underworld of supernatural desire and a simple life of practicality, and business magnate Robert Bramson is the man she blames for her confusion. If he just wasn’t so damn sexy… And dangerous. As the killer closes in, Mercy realizes that she must make a decision. But will she make her choice too late?

Opening Thirteen Lines of Mercy's Debt

Los Angeles, California
 June 10, 1924

The killer glowered down at the two lovers, enraged by the adoration they so visibly shared.

Hand-in-hand, the happy couple ambled down the embankment towards the isolated beach, murmuring to each other tenderly. When they reached the sand, the woman stopped to kick off her heels. She plucked a seashell from the glittering powder at her feet and placed the circular object in the man’s palm. He held it up to the light for examination: a sand dollar.

The moon highlighted the nebulous water before them as he pulled his mistress in close for a kiss. She whispered softly into his ear- a declaration of her love, perhaps- and he muttered back into hers. She tossed back her head and giggled, throwing her arms around his strong neck. Tucking a flyaway strand of her auburn hair behind her ear, he gazed into her face earnestly, emotion stamped on his every feature. She nestled her face against his touch, running her lips overs his individual fingers.

They embraced again, longer, closer, and he gently kissed her on both cheeks before breaking away. He produced a small box from his pocket, kneeled down on one knee, and presented his sweetheart with a ring. Her hands fluttered to her delicate Cupid’s bow mouth and she let out an exited squeal, incensing the killer to the point of madness.

The man nervously asked her a question, to which she enthusiastically nodded her head, choked with such emotion that she couldn’t quite speak. He slid the ring on her finger and held her close as she wept happily in his arms. She stared into his eyes wordlessly as he thumbed away the tears from her cheeks.

The Sassy May Water is back again!

I'm happy to welcome back fellow sassy Siren May Water. Today she's sharing the first thirteen lines from her upcoming release Raw Hide and Seek. Just from the snippet below, the book promises to be one of her hottest yet! Let's take a look shall we...

“Oh, Maddie…Come out, come out, you naughty girl,” Romney called out playfully. His voice echoed up to the barn loft where Maddie hid, causing her to shiver excitedly. She hunkered lower behind the hay bales. Her hands covered her mouth as she pictured him peeking over the horse stalls and looking under the equipment. When she heard the ladder which led to the loft creak, she thought she would pee from nervousness. She clamped her hands tighter over her mouth when the floorboard on the other side of her hiding spot squeaked. Romney’s head peeked over the bale. “Boo!”

“Oh my God!” she screeched as he did a stomach roll over the bale to reach her. Her breath came out in a big whoosh when he landed right on top of her.

“Ha, ha, there you are,” he said in a silly voice as he tickled her. Maddie thrashed around as she giggled.

“You’re squishing me!” she exclaimed with a laugh. He clamped a hand over her mouth when a noise came from below. He lifted his head cautiously over the bale to see who it was.

“It’s your pa,” he whispered when he lowered his head. He kept her under him as he nibbled her neck. Maddie tensed and tried to push him away.

“Rom, what if he catches us?” she asked with a low hiss.

“Then let’s make it worth our while,” he whispered as he bit her earlobe.

“Rom, no!” she whispered as his hand snaked up her dress. He completely ignored her while his hand made its way to her crotch.

“Take your bloomers off,” he whispered. Maddie frowned but did as he ordered. As she wiggled out of her bottoms she could hear her father speaking to one of the horses. The answering snort and deep whinny made her guess that it was King he was speaking to. Maddie tilted her head back and closed her eyes when Rom inserted two fingers in her pussy.

“Oh God,” she panted when he began fingering very fast. Heat radiated from her face all the way to her toes.

Coming soon!

Thursday Thirteen with Alexandra Anthony

As promised, here is our second fabulous thirteen from author Alexandra Anthony. She was visiting with us recently for Oh My! Monday. Let's see what the first thirteen sentences of her book Fated conjure up in our imaginations. Mmmmm...Vampires. Enjoy! ~the Vixen

The Thirteen

His long fingers twitched against mine as he fought not to touch me.  He didn't move as I straddled his hips and let my breasts graze seductively against his cool chest.  At any time he could have easily broken away from my tentative hold.  He remained still, his jaw tight as my lips brushed against the corner of his mouth.

“Please.  I want to do this,”  I begged, gently squeezing his hands and slowly nibbling my teeth against the soft skin of his neck.

His low growl of approval vibrated against me as my lips blazed a trail down his throat and across his collarbone.  I released his hands and placed them beside his legs, giving him a look that warned him to keep them there.  He sat motionless, still watching every move I made with his piercing blue eyes.

Moving to stand between his legs, I leaned over to palm his thighs and whispered quietly against his ear.  “Lean back.”

He moved his hands and braced them behind him.

Rose Leigh Woods Shares Her Thursday Thirteen

Saving Treasure (MMF)

Welcome back to The Sassy Vixen Blog! Today author and another fellow Siren shares not one, but TWO sets of thirteen sentences with us today from her SCORCHING erotic menage a trois romance Saving Treasure. Let's take a sneak peek into Treasure's world. Leave a comment for Rose and let her know what you think. Enjoy! ~The Vixen

Treasure Patience Lane sighed as she slipped back into her car. It had truly been a bad day. Moments like this made her wish that her daddy were still alive and well. She had never wanted him to rescue her from anything, and she always gladly took her bumps and bruises from her decisions, but she was starting to wish for a helping hand despite the fact that accepting it would mean she had to admit she had ignored something to get in this type of situation. At that point, she would just have to swallow what pride she had and take it. This last stop proved that there were people that would help her just a tad, though, and that she wasn’t doing a spectacular job of blending in with the other people around her.
Stopping for gas made it obvious that she was going to have to work harder to escape without any trace.
She knew her slightly curly light-brown hair didn’t exactly dredge up a lot of interest with the way it twined and turned down her back, but the bruise surrounding her eye and cheek did. Those dark marks were practically impossible to hide. They drew the attention of others’ eyes like moths to a flame. Luckily, she could keep her head down to disguise it just a bit. Her five-foot-two-inch frame meant she had to raise her face to look directly at most people, helping her to keep her face partially hidden without looking like she was purposefully avoiding looking at people. She was, for once, happy rather than perturbed at not having those few extra inches in height that she normally longed for.

Intrigued? How about a little more?

He used his body to tell her what he needed—what he was sure she needed.
He worked his hand into her jeans and stroked her through her panties. His cock dribbled pre-cum when she moaned. Her panties were soaked in no time. And that called to his painfully and pleasurably achy dick. He couldn’t wait to bury himself inside of her.
“Oh fuck, Treasure,” he grounded out once the pads of his fingers touched her after slipping around the fabric in their way. He pressed
his hardness farther into her even more forcefully, making it abundantly clear that he wanted to remove the barriers and not stop.
She ground against him and dug her fingers into his back to keep the tight contact. He continued to rub her, bringing her closer to
plunging over the edge. She got louder and louder, moaning at the pleasure he was giving her. A noise broke their fondling and made
both of them look toward the man standing near them.
James was leveling a black look at Chad before his expression softened to look down at Treasure.

Blurb for Saving Treasure

Treasure Lane was on the run from an obsessed roommate when she met James just when she needed someone to lean on. She left New Mexico with no more than the few things she could sneak out of her apartment. She allowed fate to take her where she may. She has never had roots.
James Calloway was on the way home when he saw a woman who called to him in a way he had never experienced before. He and Chad Hardin are already involved in a relationship that they cannot seem to define. When Chad discovers Treasure in his bed, he is stunned and surprised. Chad and James nurture Treasure while helping her to heal and to love. They develop a life and discover each other. Friendships are formed, passions burn brightly, and roots are formed. When Treasure's trouble follows, they must survive together.

Thursday Thirteen from Author Tammy Dennings Maggy

Welcome to the Thursday Thirteen! Here we will feature the first thirteen sentences from some of our favorite authors and their current works in progress or one that's already available for purchase.  Since this is our first post, I thought I would start things off with the first thirteen from my very first erotic romance novel with Siren Bookstrand, For the Love of Quinn. The second set of thirteen is from the prequel to Quinn's story entitled The Island (Now and Forever 2). It's still a work in progress so hopefully I will have a tentative release date soon...fingers crossed!

“Dr. Hollis?”
“Yes, Jillian.” Quinn closed her eyes and waited for the inevitable.
“It’s Mrs. Green again. Sorry.” Jillian actually cringed, and Quinn had to laugh. She was sure the young receptionist had done all she could to keep the tenacious elderly woman at bay. Oh well, she thought, better bite the bullet.
“It’s okay. I’ll talk to her, but I am not here for anyone else. I have to finish these charts and catch a plane.”
Jillian smiled and nodded. “Have fun in Vegas, and don’t forget to bring me back a souvenir like one of those hot performers in one of the Cirque du Soleil shows!”

The following is the first thirteen sentences of the Prologue from The Island (Now and Forever 2) I added this after I had written the whole story because I wanted to give a little more background concerning the gods I refer to as The Three. Even though they are not the heroes or heroines in the Now and Forever series, they do play key roles in all of the characters' stories.

The entire far wall of the mountainside chalet was covered with high definition television screens.  Modern technology fascinated The Three. They were able to keep track of their human creations using the very gadgets invented by them. Lucius in particular was fond of the wireless technology used in cell phones and personal computers. With a few swift clicks on the keyboard of his laptop, all the screens came to life with pictures of the people they were gathered to discuss.

Yeshua, the eldest of the Eternal Siblings, sat in a large, overstuffed easy chair taking in all the lives playing out on the screens before him. His deep blue eyes scanned through everything in seconds, immediately recognizing the group as the favorites of his sister, Fate. Once again, she wished to plead their case and asked to be allowed to intervene to make sure their promised destinies would be fulfilled this life time.  Yeshua had refused to let her do more than gently suggest options. Very rarely did he allow her to step in and directly guide the humans. This time, however their brother was siding with Fate. “Lucius, I’m surprised you agree with our sister. You’ve been very active with this group lately, especially Quinn and Jacob.
